Planning your loved one’s memorial is never easy. At Woodlawn Memorial Park, our goal is to make this process as straightforward and gentle as possible.
The Process Takes Time
The memorial process requires several steps, and it can take time from the moment you start to look at your options to when your memorial is complete.
First, you’ll meet with one of our team members to discuss your vision for the memorial. If you’re not sure what you want, our memorialists will help guide you through the options.
The next step is to translate the design from paper to granite, while ensuring the finished memorial will be within the cemetery bylaws for the location in the cemetery.
Granite is a natural product, and the various beautiful colours are extracted from different areas of the world. Depending on your colour choice, the piece of granite may not even be on North American soil.
Take Advantage of the Good Weather
There are a number of reasons to take advantage of the summer weather and order your memorial in July.
- Summer is a great time to tour the cemetery for ideas. You can visit our huge outdoor showroom. The park is a beautiful place to take a walk and observe the various designs.
- Monument foundations are only poured from May to November. We need to finalize the order and have it signed before we pour the foundation. The final foundation pour cut-off date is November 1st so ordering in July will ensure that your foundation is poured this year.
- In most cases, if granite is ordered in July, we will have the memorial installed before winter weather impedes installation.
Whether you’re looking for a monument, bronze marker or inscription services, our knowledgeable team members are here to explain all of your options. Contact one of our memorialists to start designing your memorial today. Learn more about memorials from Woodlawn Memorial Park in Guelph.
